John Earl, Environmental Manager: When you select cabinets from Canyon Creek, you can be assured that our finished products have little or no VOC emissions. No Added Urea Formaldehyde (NAUF) applies primarily to the substrate, not the coatings, and Canyon Creek offers NAUF cabinet box construction.
Our catalyzed conversion varnish finish has one of the lowest urea formaldehyde content levels in the cabinet industry, and we offer materials that are in compliance with the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) stringent guidelines for urea formaldehyde emissions. We have also met the standards set forth by the Japan Ministry of Health Approval for product sales to Japan. In concern for the “sick-house” syndrome, the Japanese requirements in some areas have even lower limits than the CARB standards.
