KCMA CERTIFICATION

Cabinet manufacturers that choose to participate in the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association Certification program must undergo rigorous testing procedures to assure the end-user of quality products. KCMA'S ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAM (ESP)

EPP DOWNSTREAM PROGRAM

Companies participating in the Composite Panel Association's (CPA) Environmentally Preferred Product (EPP) Downstream Program purchase at least 50% CPA EPP certified composite wood products. To learn more, click the logo at right or download the CPA EPP info PDF.


ISO 9001 CERTIFIED

ISO refers to the International Organization for Standardization, which was founded in 1946 in order to develop a common set of manufacturing, trade and communication standards. MASTER BUILDERS ASSOCIATION'S BUILT GREEN PROGRAM

The Master Builders Association of King & Snohomish Counties' Built Green program is designed to help consumers find homes and communities that are affordable and environmentally friendly. The program focuses on reducing energy use, protecting local habitat, controlling the use of resources and imrpoving indoor air quality. Learn more about the program at www.builtgreen.net.


EPA'S EVERGREEN AWARD

The Evergreen Award, for environmental excellence and leadership in pollution prevention, is presented by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Wa. State Governor's Award for Sustainable Practices

WA. STATE GOVERNOR'S AWARD

Receiving the Wa. State Governor's Award for Sustainable Practices was based upon our comprehensive efforts to incorporate sustainable practices throughout our operations and our years of commitment to the reduction of waste and toxic chemicals. Canyon Creek had previously won the Governor's Award in 1999. A panel of pollution-prevention experts and representatives from business, labor, governmental groups and academia made the award selection from a group of 31 contenders.


WA. DOE ENVIRONMENTAL RESULTS AWARD

The Washington State Department of Ecology (DOE) presented Canyon Creek with their Award of Excellence in the following areas: hazardous waste and toxics reduction and the integration of environmental factors into a lean implementation plan. The pilot project involved Canyon Creek's partnership with the State Department of Ecology and Washington Manufacturing Services to evaluate the benefits and synergies of waste reduction, pollution prevention and lean practices.


PATRIOT CERTIFICATE

Canyon Creek Cabinet Company received a "Patriot" Certificate of Appreciation from the Office of the Secretary of Defense for its support as an employer of the U.S. defense forces. The employee that nominated Canyon Creek greatly appreciated the continuing support and encouragement his family received during his deployment.


PNPPRC "GOTCHA!" AWARD

The Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention Resource Center (PNPPRC) has also recognized Canyon Creek for its lean and environmental implementation plan with its "Gotcha! Caught in the P2 Act!" award for notable pollution prevention achievement. The pollution prevention (P2) involves the reduction or elimination of waste at the source by the modification of production processes, and the use of non- or less-toxic substances and resource conservation.


ASSOCIATION OF WASHINGTON BUSINESS

The Association of Washington Business (AWB) was formed in 1904, and serves as both the statešs chamber of commerce and the manufacturing and technology association. Canyon Creek received AWB's 2011 Manufacturer of the Year Award, recognizing our overall manufacturing excellence and our contribution to the state's economy in areas of operational excellence, innovation and commitment to green manufacturing.

Over the years Canyon Creek has received a number of other awards from the AWB:

  • The AWB Green Manufacturing Award honored Canyon Creek as an "innovator in green manufacturing" for ongoing improvements to our solvent recovery and recycling system as well as our compliance with Phase 1 of the California Air Resources Boardšs strict standards for formaldehyde emissions.
  • Better Workplace Award in the category of Safety (two-time recipient)
  • Manufacturer of the Year (Honorable Mention)
  • Continuous Improvement in Resource Conservation (in conjunction with the NW Environmental Business Council)
  • Certificate of Merit for ongoing Community Service initiatives

MONROE, WA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

As one of the largest employers in the city of Monroe, Canyon Creek has a long association with the Monroe Chamber of Commerce. Over the years, Canyon Creek has been recognized with the Chamber's Business Excellence Award and the Employer of the Year Award. In 2010, Canyon Creek president & CEO Bill Weaver was awarded "Member of the Year" by the Chamber.
