Canyon Creek Adds New Contemporary Products and Wood Species to its Frameless Line

Monroe, WA - January 2008

Canyon Creek Cabinet Company has introduced new contemporary products with streamlined styling to its frameless cabinetry line. Millennia frameless cabinetry—sophisticated, European styling with American durability and craftsmanship—now includes new contemporary foil, wood and metal doors, innovative functional and decorative hardware, and exciting new storage and structural options.

The sleek foil doors are available in a variety of profiles in high-gloss solids and glossy and satin wood tones. The metal doors are featured in high-tech stainless steel and versatile, lightweight aluminum and can be personalized with glass or acrylic panel options. The natural textures of the new wood doors include variations on the popular Shaker style as well as contemporary flat panel styles in horizontal and vertical grain patterns.

Vertical bi-fold doors, vertical door lifts, aluminum-look appliance garages and wire, chrome and stainless steel pull-outs create a clean, uncluttered look. Metal drawers with adjustable grey or stainless steel sides and rails, and organizers and accessories to make the most out of drawer space, can be mixed and matched to customize each drawer. Aluminum base structures have also been added to allow designers to create contemporary island legs in variable tiers and heights. The new stainless steel floating shelves that mount to walls with concealed supports provide a modern look to any room design.

Canyon Creek Cabinet Company has also added Rift White Oak and Quarter-Sawn Bamboo to its Millennia frameless cabinetry line.

Rift White Oak with its beautiful highlights, straight grain and medium to coarse texture is simultaneously elegant and rustic. Quartering the oak log, and then sawing it perpendicular to the growth rings, produces rift-sawn lumber and gives the wood its unique look.

Exotic-looking yet highly sustainable, Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on earth, and a single plant can be harvested every three to seven years without being uprooted.

Canyon Creek Donates Much-Needed Money & Supplies to Local Flood Victim Family

Monroe, WA - January 2008

Canyon Creek Cabinet Company recently sponsored a drive among its employees to raise money and supplies for the flood victims of Lewis County, Washington. In early December of 2007, areas of Southern Washington were devastated by flood waters and the resultant accumulation of mud that covered homes and buildings over a widespread area. Many residents had to be rescued by helicopter or boat from their rooftops and the main interstate highway through the southern part of the state was closed for over a week. The governor called for a state of emergency and many FEMA and Red Cross workers likened the devastation to what Katrina had left in its wake.

During the latter part of December, the management of Canyon Creek purchased wheelbarrows, shovels, tarps and other clean-up tools to provide immediate relief to area victims. They partnered with the Lowe's home improvement store in Monroe, Washington to provide a 10% discount off the purchase price of these items bringing the contribution to over $2,000 in much-needed supplies.

In addition, Canyon Creek employees banded together and raised $1,800. The company matched that amount, bringing the total to $3,600. During the fundraising period, the president of Canyon Creek Cabinet Company, Bill Weaver, received a heartfelt letter from a flood victim that told the story of a Chehalis, Washington family that had gone above and beyond to help their community—even risking their own safety and braving the bitter cold water to rescue neighbors and family pets—all the while their own home was covered in mud and all its belongings destroyed.

Upon receipt of the letter, Canyon Creek company management decided that this second contribution could have a greater impact if it were given to this one family.

The interior of this home had to be completely gutted to allow the structure to dry thoroughly. Rust and mud on the woodstove show the height of the flood water.

The family's belongings had to be shoveled out of the house, as they were saturated with mud and debris. This is what remains of the contents of the home.

Once landscaped, the yard now contains logs, rocks and mud deposited by the flood waters.
