Canyon Creek frequently donates cabinet doors, wood scraps and other raw materials to groups and individuals that make items for, or with, local youth:
- Hardwood and plywood cut-offs are picked up by Wooden Toys for Charity, who turn the pieces into cars, planes, doll cradles, blocks and other toys that are donated to local charities.
- Canyon Creek donated the wood for kids to build “treasure boxes” for a Habitat for Humanity/vacation bible school themed project.
- Canyon Creek donated scrap wood to Recycled Playtime, a local company that provided play kitchens for kids. Kitchens were made entirely out of repurposed furniture pieces, recycled wood and other materials.
- Cabinet doors donated to the Lake Stevens Boys and Girls Club basketball team were repurposed and used as trophy plaques for the 12-year-old boys’ team.
- Wood donated to the Monroe Correctional Complex¹s Carpentry program was used to build doghouses, toy desk/chests and jewelry boxes that were then donated to local charities.
- Canyon Creek Cabinet Company donated cabinet doors so that personalized toy chests could be built for the Friends of Youth nonprofit, benefiting local homeless youth.
