We spotted this beautiful example of sapele on the shop floor, and had to share! This is the Halifax door style – note the unique edge detail on this style, done in matching sapele. (Natural stain.)
Woods like sapele, hickory and American red gum (from our Exotic Wood Veneer program) have a lot of grain variation, and are not “sequentially matched” species. That means that the grain patterns on doors on the same cabinet likely will not match, as you can see here. While this showcases the beauty of these woods, not everyone will like the abundance of grain variation. Woods like maple and beech will offer a more consistent look.
