If your bathroom could use some additional storage space, make sure to maximize your layout during your upcoming remodel. With careful planning, you can store everything you want in the bathroom and keep it on-hand but out-of-sight.
Custom cabinets are a great way to provide lots of storage because they allow you to keep your belongings off of the floor or countertops. Frameless cabinets are a big trend in the bathroom, because their sleek design appears to take up less space in an already relatively small room. You can also leave doors off of the cabinets and install drawers or storage containers of various sizes.
Drawers and drawer dividers are great hiding spots for earrings, bobby pins, razors and whatever else you find is easy to misplace. For items you’d rather have easier access to, such as cotton balls or Kleenex, use decorative holders to make them pleasing to the eye. You can also keep these items on floating shelves, which again will maximize counter space.
Also, be thoughtful about your sink design and how that will factor into your storage space. If you have a pedestal sink, consider building a floor-to-ceiling built-in cabinet somewhere else. If you have his-and-hers sinks, install a medicine cabinet above each sink to create personal space for belongings.
