Behr’s Color of the Year, Blueprint is described as honest, approachable, and “creates a space where you can build your own reimagined life.” And what better space to do that in than the most used room in the house…the kitchen. Here are a few ways you can bring the blues to the heart of your home.
Start with something you love
Whether that’s a piece of colorful tile for the backsplash or floor, or a paint sample, use that for inspiration when looking to bring color to your cabinets. If you want something a little more personal, many companies can match cabinet colors through paint matching technology.
Accent black and white
Black and white kitchens are all about elegance and drama, but if you aren’t careful, they can seem too cold. Warm things up by including a blue kitchen island, which adds charm and personality. A blue island or set of cabinets can also create some fun in a traditional all white and wood kitchen design.
If you are ready to really dive in and go with all blue cabinetry, break it up by using white or light countertops and a light grey backsplash. This creates the ideal balance between bold and serene in your kitchen.
Mix and match
If you love all shades of blue, consider going lighter on top and darker on the bottom with your cabinets (like our photo above). Behr’s Monochromatic Color Palette shows you how to layer these colors in an impactful way.
